Bo "Bosse" Nilsson (* 1944 ) is a Swedish football coach . After a playing career primarily in the lower league area, which led him to a first division assignment, he worked as a coach in the Swedish Allsvenskan and the Danish Super League .

Career

Nilsson initially played at Tjörnarps BOIF in his hometown. In 1963 he joined the fourth division IFK Hässleholm , with whom he rose to the third division at the end of the following year. He had made a name for himself through good performances and joined the Stockholm club Djurgårdens IF . For the reigning champions he made his debut in 1967 in the Allsvenskan, but was only used in one game. He then returned to IFK Hässleholm, where he took over as coach at the end of 1974. Right away he led the club into the second division, in 1976 he achieved his best result with the team as fourth in the table.

1979 Nilsson moved to the coaching bench of league competitor Mjällby AIF . Here, too, he was immediately successful and rose with the club as the champion of Division 2 Södra before Helsingborgs IF for the first time in the club's history in the Allsvenskan. However, the club had no chance in the first division and had to relegate directly after three victories in the course of the season as bottom of the table. He then returned to IFK Hässleholm again, at the same time assisting national coach Lars Arnesson in looking after the Swedish national team . With the now third-rate club, he narrowly missed the return to the second tier several times, at the end of 1985, the club separated from him.

In 1987, Helsingborgs IF Nilsson, which was also a third-rate club, signed up as a new coach. Under his leadership, the club rose in 1989 with 22 wins from 26 games in its third division season in the second division. In the southern season, the club narrowly missed the march into the Allsvenskan, behind BK Häcken , the team took second place in the table. After a league reform, the championship in Sweden was redesigned, as the leader of the autumn championship Nilsson reached with his club in 1991 the promotion round to Allsvenskan. After successes over BK Häcken and IK Brage , the team failed in the third round of the relegation at Gothenburg club Västra Frölunda IF due to the away goals rule . In the following year again autumn champions this time one round was enough for promotion, IFK Sundsvall was outclassed with a 6-1 away win. With the team he finished in the first division season in 1993 as ninth in the table, a non-relegation place.

In 1994 the Danish club Silkeborg IF Nilsson was from and brought him into the super league. As the successor to the master coach Bo Johansson , who had migrated to HJK Helsinki , he could not build on the success. He then looked after West Riffa from Bahrain before returning to Allsvenskan in 1997 as a coach for Degerfors IF . After the club's relegation at the end of the season, he went back to Bahrain. In 1999 Malmö FF hired him as a team leader.

In 2006 Nilsson returned to Helsingborgs IF as head of sport. At the end of 2007, coach Stuart Baxter left the club for the Finnish national team , and subsequently took over his post on an interim basis until the summer break due to the 2008 European Championship . After good results - the team stayed in the top third of the table - the club extended the activities of Nilsson, his assistant coaches Peter Gerhardsson and Per-Ola Ljung and the goalkeeping coach Sven Andersson . In the 2009 season , the club could not confirm fourth place from the previous year, so that in autumn it was decided to end the cooperation at the end of the year. He then took over the coaching position again at IFK Hässleholm, which is now fourth class.
