Robert "Bob" Christie (born April 4, 1924 in Grants Pass , Oregon , † June 1, 2009 ibid) was an American racing driver .

Career

Christie ran from 1956 to 1963 in the USAC racing series in the United States . He has competed 15 times in all these years, including eight times in the Indianapolis 500 . His best finish was third in Daytona in 1959 . In Indianapolis, his best result was tenth in 1960.

Since the 500 miles from Indianapolis were also part of the Formula 1 World Championship between 1950 and 1960 , Christie also took part in five races for the World Championship. He could not achieve points for the championship. After his career he worked a. a. for Firestone .
