The Bockhütte is a privately managed pasture of the Partenkirchen pasture cooperative in the central part of the Reintal near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Wetterstein Mountains .
location
The hut is located in Reintal between Partenkirchen and Zugspitze at an altitude of 1052 m above sea level. NN . At the Bockhütte, the Middle Reintal divides with the Partnacher Hinterklamm and the Hintere Reintal. The Oberreintal with the Oberreintalbach branches off here.
history
The very first Bockhütte was mentioned in the early 18th century by an unknown forester on a drawn map as "Pochhüttl auf den Eisen Poden". A pasture right, however, is documented as early as 1408. The Bockhütte, a wooden hut erected in 1932, has only been served since the 1980s.
After the old Bockhütte was finally in a desolate condition, planning for a new building began in 2005. The approval process of the nature conservation authorities followed and the new building could start in 2010. The Bockhütte was built in the classic local way: bricks, cement and lots of wood.
The new Bockhütte was inaugurated in July 2011 in the presence of dignitaries from politics and church. The technically modern hut construction is equipped with photovoltaics on the roof and small power turbines in the Partnach as well as with a modern toilet system and a biological small sewage treatment plant.
The Bockhütte is one of four Partenkirchner alpine pastures. It is cultivated during the grazing season from the end of June to the 2nd Sunday in September. Around 600 sheep from the Partenkirchnians who are authorized to graze then graze the barren pastures on 124 hectares of alpine pastures around the Reintal up to the Zugspitzplatt or Meilerhütte above the royal house on Schachen . Simple meals and drinks are available for mountaineers. It does not offer any overnight accommodation.
The big sheep drive at the beginning of September is worth seeing.
