The Bodewes Trader 7575 is a six-unit series of coasters from the Dutch shipyard Royal Bodewes in Hoogezand .
history
The ships were ordered by the Erwin Strahlmann shipping company in Marne . The first four units were also delivered to the Strahlmann shipping company. The last two units were sold by the Strahlmann shipping company to Arklow Shipping in Arklow (the fifth ship was already under construction at that time).
The front half of the hulls of the first five ships in the series were built by the Polish Prokon shipyard in Stettin and towed to Hoogezand on a pontoon . Here they were lifted ashore with a floating crane and connected to the rear half of the hulls built on site.
description
The ships are from a four-stroke - six-cylinder - diesel engine of the manufacturer Caterpillar driven. The MaK 6M32C motors have an output of 2,999 kW and act on a controllable pitch propeller via a reduction gear . The ships can thus reach a speed of 12.5 knots . For power generation are two Sisu diesel engines each with 180 kW power available on two Leroy-Somer - generators act as well as an emergency generator with 96 kW of power. A shaft generator with 348 kW output is also available. The ships are equipped with an electrically powered bow thruster with an output of 300 kW.
The deckhouse is in the rear of the ships. There are two holds in front of the deckhouse . The rear cargo area is box-shaped. It is 44.25 m long and 13.25 m wide. The front cargo area is 38.25 m long and 13.25 m wide. It tapers in the bow area to around 10.9 m in length and 6.31 m in width. The holds are closed with pontoon hatch covers that can be moved using a hatch trolley. The ships are equipped with a bulkhead that can be erected in eight positions. The holds are together 9473.1 m³ in size.
The ships are equipped for the transport of containers . The container capacity is 265 TEU , of which 177 TEU in space and 88 TEU on deck. In hold 1, six 20-foot containers can be stowed one behind the other and up to five next to each other, in hold 2 seven 20-foot containers can be stowed one behind the other and up to five next to each other. There is space for three layers on top of each other. On deck, there is space on the front hatch for six 20-foot containers one behind the other and up to five next to each other and on the rear hatch for seven 20-foot containers one behind the other and up to five next to each other. The containers can be stowed in two layers on top of each other on the rear hatch. The rearmost stack is limited to one layer, as the hatch car is parked here. The foremost stack on hatch 2 and the deck containers on hatch 1 are also limited to one layer, taking into account the line of sight .
The tank cover can be loaded with 15 t / m², the hatch covers of the first four ships of the series can be loaded with 2.6 t / m², those of the last two ships with 1.5 t / m². The hull of the ships is reinforced with ice .
