Malesherbes is a village and a former French commune with 6,047 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the far north of the Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Pithiviers and the Canton of Malesherbes .

With effect from January 1, 2016, Malesherbes was merged with the former municipalities of Coudray , Labrosse , Mainvilliers , Manchecourt , Nangeville and Orveau-Bellesauve to form the Commune nouvelle Le Malesherbois and has since exercised the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality .

location

Malesherbes is about 15 km northeast of Pithiviers , on the banks of the Essonne River .

On January 1, 2016, the municipality of Malesherbes merged with Coudray , Labrosse , Mainvilliers , Manchecourt , Nangeville and Orveau-Bellesauve to form the new municipality of Le Malesherbois.

Malesherbes' German twin town has been Bruck in the Upper Palatinate since 1996 .
