B Eden (born August 16, 1961 in Hagen ; actually Boris Nikolaus Hiesserer ) is a German musician and media and video artist . He also occurs under the pseudonyms Eden and b.-Eden 123 .

Life

The artist's son Dieter Hiesserer grew up near Düsseldorf, after stops in Utrecht , New York , San Francisco and England he lives in Heidelberg .

Since the beginning of the 1980s he was an activist of the "Temple ov Psychic Youth" (TOPY) and audio-visual co-ordinator of Psychic TV . He was also a member of the first European trance act "Psychick Warriors ov Gaia". From his membership in the TOPY network, he founded the “Pyromania Arts Foundation” in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 1985, an internationally active collective of consciousness researchers that serves as a platform for artists who do not feel at home in the traditional art world. In 2003 he and fellow campaigners founded the Doors Of Perception Ethic Committee (DOPEC) and acted as curator of various events in and around Heidelberg (including the “Future Visions” series at the German American Institute (DAI). In 1999 Hiesserer became an extraordinary member appointed in the 'European College for Consciousness Studies' (ECBS).

Hiesserer opened New York's first acid house club in 1988 with weekly dance events in the Lower East Side Club "The Pyramid".

In cooperation with the performance and music group Minus Delta t and the Quantum Pool Cologne, he moderated the first interactive TV experiment, Van Gogh TV , in 1992 as part of Documenta IX in Kassel , which took place over a period of 100 days (from June 13th to 20th. September 1992) broadcast live across Europe. The basic idea was to install an artistic, interactive television that would enable viewers to participate directly through the use of new video and computer technologies. Technically, this was realized by remote control of video cameras, video and sound mixers and synthetic image and sound waves via multi-frequency dialing via the telephone line. This enabled every viewer who had a telephone that could be switched to tone dialing or a separate touch-tone beeper (e.g. from a remote-controlled answering machine) to communicate with others in real time and to influence the end product.

In addition to Derrick May , Ricardo Villalobos , Heiko M / S / O , Terry Bell and the band Sieg über die Sonne , Boris was part of the 'Eclipse' crew as decorator and VJ of the first open-air rave in Chile, for the solar eclipse on September 2. November 1994, followed by an appearance on the national television network 'Television Nacional de Chile' (TVN) and two club nights in Santiago des Chile's 'OZ Club' - with guest DJ John Aquaviva .

In addition to collaborations with Albert Hofmann , Terence McKenna , Timothy Leary , Thomas D , Move D , Genesis P-Orridge , Dr. Motte , Ricardo Villalobos , Hans-Peter Dürr , Alexander Lauterwasser , Hans Cousto is B Eden editor of the copy art magazine "Rave New World", which has been published in ten editions since 1992 and is in the library of the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Hygiene ( IGPP) in Freiburg .

B Eden is one of the veterans and co-founders of techno , trance and cyberculture and was the initiator and co-designer of techno parties and chill-outs, including the Mannheimer milk! Club and in Frankfurt's Dorian Gray and Omen , as well as the techno-art exhibition Chromapark . In 1994 he took part alongside Derrick May in a festival during the solar eclipse in Chile , during which an appearance on Chilean TV took place.

In addition to his collaboration on the LP "50th Anniversary ov LSD - Tribute to Albert Hofmann" on the Heidelberg Source Records label by Move D , he released a CD of the same name in 1995 with Tom Kubli under the name "True Frequencies", also on Source Records. In the mid-1990s he coined the term "Cybertribe", which was expressed in 1996 in the book "Cybertribe Visionen" and in 1998 in the project "The Alchemist Congress" as a CD / CD-Rom compilation of the same name.

For the 100th birthday of the LSD discoverer Albert Hofmann and the 63rd year of LSD birth , in 2006 B Eden published the DVD (and Internet) project “Media Shamanism” (DVD) or “The Media Shaman” (5 CD set).

As editor and author, Hiesserer edited the first volume of the 'Edition Cyberculture Studies' in 2016, 'Ecce Panis Angelorum, The Bread of Angels - Sacred Technologies of Visionary Culture'. The richly illustrated work describes how communication with plant-based spirit teachers and higher octave consciousness units is possible in order to read - in a trance, in a visionary dream or intoxication - in the “Book of Life”.
