Boris Strel (born October 20, 1959 in Škofja Loka ; † March 28, 2013 ibid) was a Yugoslav ski racer of Slovene origin.

His greatest success was winning the giant slalom bronze medal at the 1982 World Ski Championships in Schladming , behind Steve Mahre and Ingemar Stenmark , which meant Yugoslavia won the first medal at an Alpine World Ski Championships. He improved from 7th place after the first round to third place. In 1980 he was eighth in the giant slalom at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid , four years later in Sarajevo fifth in the same discipline. At the beginning of his career he won the gold medal in giant slalom at the Junior European Championships in 1977 in Kranjska Gora .

In the Ski World Cup , Strel won a giant slalom on December 15, 1981 in Cortina d'Ampezzo . He reached another podium on January 26, 1981 in the giant slalom in Adelboden . In addition, there are 21 further placements among the top ten.
