Borsuky ( Ukrainian Борсуки ; Russian Барсуки Barsuki , Polish Borsuki ) is a village in Rajon Lanivtsi the Oblast Ternopil in western Ukraine about 8 kilometers west of the Rajonshauptstadt Lanivtsi and 46 kilometers northeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Ternopil at Horyn (here for Borsuky reservoir dammed) located.
On September 13, 2016 the village became the center of the newly established rural community Borsuky ( Борсуківська сільська громада Borsukiwska silska hromada ). This also includes the 5 villages Borschtschiwka ( Борщівка ), Napadivka , Peredmirka ( Передмірка ), Syniwzi ( Синівці ) and Welyki Kuskiwzi ( Великі Кусківці ).
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1463 and initially belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania (in the Volyn Voivodeship ). With the partitions of Poland , the place fell to the Russian Empire and was in the Volhynia governorate until the end of the First World War .
After the end of the First World War, the place came to Poland (as Borsuki in the Volhynia Voivodeship , Powiat Krzemieniec , Gmina Łanowce ), was occupied by the Soviet Union from 1939 to 1941 and then by Germany until 1944 . This incorporated the place into the Reichskommissariat Ukraine .
After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
