Brakwater is a suburb of Windhoek in the region Khomas , Namibia . Brakwater is located on the Klein-Windhoek - Rivier west of the Erosberg Mountains and around ten kilometers north of Windhoek city center , directly on the B1 national road .
Brakwater is part of the Windhoek-Land constituency . The former farmland consisting of five farms was integrated into the Windhoek urban area in 1993. Since then, plots of up to 50 hectares have been separated. Only the Elisenheim farm has largely been preserved as an agricultural area. Parts of Brakwater have been expanding into Windhoek's fifth industrial area since 2012 .
