Bram Stoker Awards 1998

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bram Stoker Award 1998 was given in 1999 for literature from the previous year in twelve categories. At the award ceremony, exceptional contributions to horror literature are honored every year. The Bram Stoker Award has been presented since 1987, and the winners are chosen by election by the members of the Horror Writers Association (HWA).

Compared to previous years, in which the prize was usually awarded in seven categories, five more categories were added in 1998 and the total number rose to twelve categories; however, two of the prizes were not awarded. As in previous years, several authors have been nominated several times. The winner of the novel category, Stephen King , was also nominated for the short story section. The comic author Garth Ennis was nominated for two works in the Illustrated History section, but the prize was not awarded in this one.
