Brew Moore

Milton Aubrey "Brew" Moore (* 26. March 1924 in Indianola (Mississippi) ; † 19th August 1973 in Copenhagen ) was an American jazz - saxophonist .

Brew Moore made his first musical experiences as a professional in the bands of Claude Thornhill and Kai Winding . He was one of the Four Brothers in the Woody Herman herds, attended sessions with Tony Fruscella in 1953 and lived in San Francisco from 1955 to 1960. From 1960 to 1967 he stayed in Europe and played with Kenny Clarke in Paris in 1961 . From 1962 he lived in Scandinavia and was a sought-after session musician. His role model was Lester Young . He can be heard on LPs and CDs with Chet Baker , Gerry Mulligan and Stan Getz . Only a few LPs were created under his own name, including albums for Fantasy and SteepleChase Records . A fall while under the influence of alcohol led to the end of his career.
