Brian McReynolds (born January 5, 1965 in Penetanguishene , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player . The center played in its active time from 1985 to 1999 for the Winnipeg Jets , New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League .

Career

Brian McReynolds began his career as a hockey player at Michigan State University , which he attended from 1985 to 1988, while he also played for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . With Michigan State University he won the 1986 championship of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and then that of the NCAA. He was drawn by the New York Rangers in 112th place overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft . Even before he was signed by the Rangers, they exchanged the rights to him to the Winnipeg Jets . For this he played in the 1989/90 season for the first time games in the top North American division, the NHL . However, as in the following years, he played most of the season in the minor leagues AHL and IHL . Since he saw no prospect of further NHL missions, he moved to Europe in 1995 for the Swedish first division team Malmö IF . He also played in the DEL for Ratingen , Rosenheim and for the last year and a half for the Kölner Haie before ending his career without winning the title.

After the then Frankfurt Chris Snell , who scored the first goal ever in the Kölnarena , McReynolds was Cologne's first goalscorer in the new hall. Due to his Irish ancestry, McReynolds has an Irish passport in addition to the Canadian one.
