Brot und Salz (also Brot & Salz ) was a German rock band . It was in 1973 after the X. World Festival in East Berlin , and it began from the group Thomas Natschinski forth.

history

Under the musical direction of Thomas Natschinski, the band continued the musical concept, melodious rock with clear country and folk influences , of the Thomas Natschinski group. It originated predominantly rock ballads such as your steps are small , never before and I love you more and more , some of which in the GDR radio could be produced and in 1974 Amiga appeared. In 1975 the titles Mach's good old house and playground , sung by Detlev Haak, for the DEFA feature film A Key for a New House , and the band went on tour abroad for the first time (Poland and Belgium). However, it was difficult to prevail against the hard rock of the Puhdys , Joco Devs and the Klaus Renft combo with the audience , so that great successes failed to materialize. The result was multiple changes in line-up. In 1974 Ingo Koster joined the band for Martin Lehrmann and Peter Müller for Hermann Naehring. With Natschinski, Ingo Koster ( blues from parting ) and Helmut Frommhold ( evening for young and old ) the band had three composers. This was an expression of the high musical quality of the band, but at the same time prevented a formative musical profile.

When Natschinski left the band in 1976 to work primarily as a composer and Peter Müller went to Wir , Ingo Koster took over the musical direction of Bread and Salt. He reorganized the band again and presented a program with new titles, based exclusively on folk rock . From then on belonged Wolf Dieter Binge (bass), who switched to Express in 1978 , Horst Schmäke (organ, piano), Thomas Friedrich (guitar, vocals), Carsten Görner (guitar, violin, percussion) and Burkhard Neumann (piano, percussion) with bread and salt. As the great success did not materialize again, Koster broke up the band at the end of 1977 and founded the band three together with Carsten Görner and Burkhard Neumann in early 1978 .

At times, Aurora Lacasa was a singer of Bread and Salt.
