Bruce is located in northwestern Wisconsin on the west bank of the Chippewa River , a left tributary of the Mississippi . The Thornapple River flows across from Bruce .

The municipality extends over an area of 6.19 km² and is surrounded by the Town of Atlanta in the north and the Town of Stubbs in the south , without being part of any of them. To the east, separated by the Chippewa River, the Town of Thornapple borders on the community of Bruce.
