Brudzewice ( German  Brüsewitz ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Gmina Suchań (Zachan Municipality ) in the Stargardzki powiat (Stargard District) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Upper Pomerania , 48 km southeast of Stettin and 14 km east of Stargard .

history

In 1474 there was a mill in the village. Around 1487 the village was a fief of the Order of St. John . In 1765 a new windmill was built in Brüsewitz.

In 1945 the village of Brüsewitz belonged to the district of Sukow a./Ihna in the district of Saatzig in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania of the German Empire .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 . In the summer of 1945 the village was placed under Polish administration by the Soviet Union , together with the whole of Western Pomerania . Then the immigration of Polish civilians began in Brüsewitz. Brüsewitz received the Polish place name Brudzewice . In the period that followed, the local villagers were expelled .

From 1975 to 1998 the village belonged to the Szczecin Voivodeship . The village has an area of ​​11.5 km² and 433 inhabitants.
