history
The place name Brzeźno (with or without additional suffix) occurs more than thirty times in Poland.
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1372.
Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population in the Allenstein voting area , to which Persing belonged, voted on July 11, 1920 on whether they would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus to Germany) or join Poland. In Persing, 120 residents voted to remain with East Prussia, Poland did not receive any votes.
Until 1945 Persing was a place in the district of Osterode in East Prussia in the district of Allenstein in the Prussian province of East Prussia . After 1945, the place now called Brzeźno Łyńskie became part of the urban and rural community Nidzica (Neidenburg) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ) in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and now has 89 inhabitants.
