Burkhardt Öller (born November 9, 1942 in Pößneck , † July 8, 2014 in Peine ) was a German football goalkeeper . For the clubs Eintracht Braunschweig and Hannover 96 , the goalkeeper made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga from 1967 to 1972 .

Career

In 1966, Bundesliga club Eintracht Braunschweig became aware of Öller, who was then playing in the Lower Saxony amateur league at VfB Peine , and signed him for the club's second team for the 1966/67 season. From 1967 to 1971 he was behind the German national player Horst Wolter substitute goalkeeper of the Bundesliga team of Eintracht. Öller made his debut on September 16, 1967 in a 3-0 home defeat against 1. FC Nuremberg in the Bundesliga. He was substituted on by coach Helmuth Johannsen in the second half when the score was 0: 2 for Wolter. In addition to Öller, the German champions of 1967 also signed Horst Berg and Gerhard Elfert and Michael Polywka was eligible to play after a one-year ban. In the Bundesliga, however, things did not go well for the defending champion, Braunschweig only reached 9th place and Öller had played in three league games. In his second Bundesliga year, 1968/69 , he was able to prove his skills in eight Bundesliga games when he reached 4th place. After his first league game on April 19, 1969 in a 2-0 away defeat at 1. FC Nürnberg, the Bundesliga chronicle of his performance is noted: “Braunschweig only had Wolter representative Öller that it was only 0-1 at the break Thanks to. Zaczyk, Küppers and Volkert appeared in front of him more than once, but Öller took almost every ball out of the corner. ”Even after the 0: 4 defeat on May 30, 1969 on the Betzenberg against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, his performance was highlighted : "Öller really got everything out of himself, even saved a penalty, but he couldn't produce miracles on the assembly line either." When in the last year of Johannsen's coaching, 1969/70, Eintracht only struggled with 16th place Was able to avoid relegation, Öller only came to two more missions. Even in the first year of the new Eintracht trainer Otto Knefler , 1970/71 , Öller remained number 2 with nine appearances behind Wolter.

For the 1971/72 season, the 1.87 m tall goalkeeper moved to league competitor Hannover 96 , where the former Eintracht coach Helmuth Johannsen was in action. After the departure of Horst Podlasly and the departure of Bernd Helmschrot, he was intended as the new number 1, the other newcomer Franz-Josef Pauly as the first replacement in goal. But Öller started weakly in the round, he showed nerves and therefore did not radiate security and ended his career as a professional footballer after this season and returned to VfB Peine. In total, Öller played 30 Bundesliga games for Braunschweig and Hanover. In 1983 he rose to the district class with TSV Dungelbeck as master of the district league Peine. In 2000 he ended his active career in Dungelbeck

Öller was one of the players involved in the Bundesliga scandal in 1971 : The team from Eintracht Braunschweig had accepted an additional bonus from Arminia Bielefeld for a game against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . For this, Öller was given a three-month ban and a fine of DM 2000.

From 2002 to 2004, Öller was the trainer of TSV Dungelbeck in the Peine district class.
