The Busan-Asia-Main-Stadion ( kor .: 부산 아시아드 주 경기장) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the second largest city of Busan in South Korea .
history
The stadium was built for the 2002 Asian Games , which were played from September 29th to October 14th, 2002. Among other things, the opening and closing ceremonies took place in the sports facility. Work on the arena started in November 1993 and continued until mid-2001. The inauguration was celebrated on September 15, 2001. It has a seating capacity for 55,982 spectators. The stadium roof is constructed like a dome structure that is open at the top . The building is 241 m long and 227 m wide.
As the venue for the 2002 World Cup , Busan hosted three preliminary round matches. In 2003, 2005 and 2007, games of the Peace Cup football tournament were held at the Busan Asia Main Stadium. From 2003 to 2015, the K League 2 franchise Busan IPark played its home games in the stadium. The stadium is located with other sports facilities in the Busan Sports Complex . There is an athletics stadium next to the arena and the Sajik-Arena multi-purpose hall with 15,000 seats is in the immediate vicinity ; the Sajik baseball stadium , where the Lotte Giants play, with around 30,000 seats and the Sajik swimming arena .

Right next to the stadium is a replacement stadium that was built with the main stadium. This is the place where the fifth division Busan FC will play their games from the 2017 season . The stadium has a total capacity of 4,549 seats.
