Games of the Paraguayan team
Preliminary round
Spain was the undisputed favorite of Group B. Paraguay, South Africa and Slovenia battled for second place. In the first game Paraguay led against South Africa 2-0, but had to accept the equalizer in stoppage time. As expected, the second game was lost to Spain.
In the decisive third game, Slovenia, already eliminated, was defeated 3-1 with two goals in the closing stages. South Africa lost 3-2 to Spain at the same time. Paraguay and South Africa were tied on points and also had the same goal difference. But since the South Americans had scored one more goal, they reached the next round.

Round of 16
Paraguay met Germany in the round of 16. In a game with few highlights, the favorite prevailed with a goal in the 88th minute. In stoppage time Paraguay lost a player by being sent off.
