history

The band consists of musicians from the Munich area. The multi-instrumentalist Tobias Weber is a theater musician (in 2016 with Nico and the Navigators), played new music with piano possibile , is a member of the contemporary music ensemble “Neues Kollektiv München” and a freelance musician in several bands. He is responsible for the band's compositions. Richard Oehmann , who also directs Doctor Döblinger's tasteful puppet theater as artistic director , writes the lyrics. Among other things, Anton Gruber performs as the director of the “Choir of the Romantics eV”, whose appearances are part of the band's program. Brass player Micha Acher also plays in numerous other bands, including The Notwist . Greulix Tisch was active as a drummer for the metal band Schweisser until 2001 . In addition, numerous guest musicians appeared, including Maria Hafner , Anna Hermann, Mathias Götz , Wolfgang Roth, Evi Keglmaier and Ulrich Bassenge .

The songs and short radio play-like introductions are aimed at children and adults; the band is also called "Institute for Unsweetened Children's Culture and Unacidified Adult Schmarrn". In addition to the choir appearances of the rather rough and chaotic appearing “Romantics”, there are songs of numerous styles, including Ska , Blues , Dixieland , Wienerlied , Bluegrass and Italoschlager . Its sometimes absurd content revolves around everyday things and is instrumented in a variety of ways, including numerous brass instruments. Some songs are sung in the Bavarian dialect .

While the lyrics of the first album describe the neighborhood milieu, the second CD contains “vacation, summer and freedom songs”.
