Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of eight constituencies in the Highlands and Islands electoral region , which was redesigned as part of the constituency revision in 2011. The constituency of Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross was dissolved. It comprised the northern areas of the Council Area Highland with the traditional counties of Caithness and Sutherland and the eastern areas of the former administrative county of Ross and Cromarty . The areas have merged into the new constituency of Caithness, Sutherland and Ross . In the 2001 census survey, a total of 51,823 people lived within its borders. A deputy was sent.
