Caitlin Sargent-Jones (* 14. June 1992 in Brisbane as Caitlin Sargent ) is an Australian sprinter , referring to the 400-meter dash specializes.

Athletic career

Caitlin Sargent-Jones gained her first international experience at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Moncton , where she was eliminated with 11.90 s in the semi-finals of the 100-meter run and with the Australian 4-by-100-meter relay in 45.57 s finished in seventh place, while she was eliminated with the 4-by-400-meter relay in 3: 39.64 minutes in the lead. In 2011 she took sixth place over 400 meters at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen in 53.29 seconds. With the relay she took part in the World Championships in Daegu and was eliminated there with 3: 32.27 min in advance. Two years later she was sixth again at the Student World Games in Kazan in 52.40 s and also qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated in the first round with 52.63 s. In 2014 she took part in the relay for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and finished fourth in 3: 30.27 minutes. At the 2015 IAAF World Relays to the Bahamas she came in advance for use. In 2016 she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished eighth in the Australian relay in 3: 27.45 minutes . At the IAAF World Relays 2017 she finished fifth in 3: 28.80 s. In 2018 she again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the local Gold Coast and finished fifth with the relay in 3: 27.43 min.

In 2012 and 2013, Sargent-Jones was Australian champion in the 400-meter run and in 2018 with the 4-by-400-meter relay. She graduated from the University of Queensland with a degree in physical therapy .
