The California State Route 111 ( CA 111 for short ) is a state route in the US state of California , which runs in a north-south direction through the Coachella Valley from Palm Springs to Calexico .

The State Route begins south of Calexico on the Mexican border and meets California State Route 98 in the center of town . From Calexico it runs in a northerly direction. State Route 86 branches off east of Heber before CA 111 passes Interstate 8 . From the interstate it runs parallel to CA 86 and CA 115 in a northerly direction.

In Brawley it crosses California State Route 78 and in Calipatria State Route 115 ends at it. She then runs along the northeastern shore of the Salton Sea along and strikes at Mecca to the California State Route 86S .

In the east of Indio it uses the state route 86 for a few kilometers. After the branching of the California State Route 74 in the south of Palm Desert , the CA 111 runs in a north-westerly direction and ends after crossing the cities of Rancho Mirage , Cathedral City and Palm Springs west of White Water on Interstate 10 .
