California Institute of the Arts
The California Institute of the Arts ( CalArts for short ) is a private art school in Valencia , Los Angeles County , founded in 1961 under the direction of Walt and Roy Disney as a merger of the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music (founded in 1883) and the Chouinard Art Institute (founded in 1921) was founded. Based on the Bauhaus concept, the creative and performing arts were combined under one roof.
The university offers courses with bachelor's and master's degrees in the fields of art , music , dance , film and theater . Thanks to the open architecture of the building, the individual departments are in constant contact and offer joint courses.
