Camille Lembi Zaneli

Camille Lembi Zaneli (born April 2, 1950 in Zongo ; † July 8, 2011 in Kisangani ) was a Congolese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Isangi .

Life

Camille Lembi Zaneli studied philosophy at the major seminary in Kabwe ( Zambia ) and Kananga (DR Congo) and theology in Kinshasa and was ordained a priest on September 30, 1979 . He worked for the Lisala diocese , including teacher and educator of the Lisala Minor Seminary (1979–1980), Rector of the Lisala Minor Seminary (1980–1990) and Rector of the Lisala Diocesan House in Kinshasa (1990–1991). In 1999 Lembi Zaneli was pastor in the Archdiocese of Saint-Pierre et Fort-de-France in Martinique .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Isangi on June 2, 2000. The Archbishop of Kisangani , Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya , donated him episcopal ordination on November 26, 2000 ; Co- consecrators were Louis Nkinga Bondala C.ICM , Bishop of Lisala , and Ferdinand Maemba Liwoke , Bishop of Lolo .

He died in the crash of a Boeing 727 operated by the private airline Hewa Bora Airways on the flight from the capital Kinshasa to Kisangani , which had problems shortly before landing due to heavy rain.
