The Canon EOS M3 is a mirrorless system camera from the Japanese manufacturer Canon . It was launched in April 2015.

technical features

The camera does not have a viewfinder and works in live view mode. An optional electronic viewfinder (EVF-DC1 or EVF-DC2) can be attached. The image sensor has APS-C format and 24.2 megapixel resolution. Videos can be recorded in full HD resolution at 29 frames per second.

The integrated flash has the guide number 5 and can also be used indirectly (tilted up). In the existing hot shoe fit all EX Speedlite - flash units .

The camera is available in a black or white ergonomic housing.

The Canon EOS M3 was first available in Europe and Asia and later also in the US. On August 27, 2015, Canon announced that the M3 was also available in the United States.

The Canon UK homepage states that the autofocus does not work with several older lenses on the M3 and M10. It is unclear whether this also applies to older M models.

Lenses

Several EF-M zoom lenses and prime lenses are available from the manufacturer.

EF and EF-S bayonet lenses , including autofocus, can be used with an adapter available from Canon and other manufacturers.

In conjunction with STM lenses, the camera can specify the auto focus speed for the lens. This leads to a smooth adjustment of the distance setting, especially with video recordings.
