Carl Ahlers

Carl Ahlers (also: Karl Ahlers and Carl Georg Ahlers Karl Georg Ahlers ; * around 1823 in Bremervörde ; † April 15, 1868 in Linden ) was a German manufacturer and economic functionary .

Life

Karl Georg Ahlers studied in Chemnitz at what was then the Royal Saxon Higher Trade School and then learned how to operate such a facility in practice from Ernst Otto Clauss in the EI Clauss cotton spinning mill in Plaue . Ahlers then deepened his training by visiting similar factories in Switzerland , Alsace , Belgium and England , in order to then take over the management of a cotton spinning mill connected to a mill in Sachsenburg in Saxony .

From 1853 until his death, Karl Ahlers was director of the Hanover cotton spinning and weaving mill .

In the spring of 1857 Ahlers was elected as a member of the management of the trade association for the Kingdom of Hanover , to which he then belonged continuously. At the same time, Ahlers worked as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hanover Bank and from 1867 to 1868 as a full member or as a member of the board of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce .

In addition to his work in the textile industry, Karl Ahlers acted as a voluntary advisor on questions of industrial as well as commercial and trade matters.

Karl Ahlers died on April 15, 1868 in Linden at the age of 45.
