Life

Origin and family

Carl Franz comes from the Pomeranian Line of the noble family of Brünnow . His parents were the Prussian major and heir to Helpe Vinzenz George von Brünnow († 1753) and his wife Sophie Hedwig von Langenn († 1765).

From his marriage to Johanna Louise von Wachholtz (1736–1797) in 1753 , his three daughters, Charlotta, Wilhelmina and Aemilia, who presumably died young, and the following five sons, all of whom were officers in the Prussian army, are known:

Career

Brünnow attended the Joachimsthalsche Gymnasium before he enrolled in Frankfurt in 1738 and finally studied law in Halle by 1743 at the latest . He then found a job as a councilor in the Küstrin government. After he had acquired the Breitenfelde estate in 1762 , he received his departure at his own request in 1763. The reasons for his early departure were his poor health and the loss of property in his family during the Seven Years' War .
