Carl Friedrich von Rautter

Carl Friedrich von Rautter (* 1698 in Abbarten ; † November 29, 1758 there ) was a royal Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 4 .

He was the son of Otto Ernst von Rautter († 1706) and Sophia Charlotta Finck von Finckenstein (* 1660; † 1753).

He comes from an old Prussian family. In 1716 he entered the Prussian military service , joined Infantry Regiment No. 14 , was second lieutenant in 1725 and premier lieutenant in 1730 . In 1739 he was promoted to captain and in 1741 to major . In 1749 he became a lieutenant colonel , in 1753 a colonel and in 1757 a major general and was given Infantry Regiment No. 4 . Between 1741 and 1758 he took part in all of Frederick II's campaigns .

After the Battle of Zorndorf in 1758 he asked for his release, which was also granted, and he retired to his Abbarten estate . He died there a little later, unmarried and childless.

In addition to Abbarten, Rautter also owned the Deutsch Wilten , Georgenau , Wolmen and Talskeim estates , all in the Bartenstein district, as well as the Blandau and Aftinten hills in the Gerdauen district .
