Carlo Maccari

Carlo Maccari (born January 13, 1913 in Cantone di Parrano , Terni province , Italy , † April 17, 1997 ) was Archbishop of Ancona-Osimo .

Life

Carlo Maccari received on 6 December 1936, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 10, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Emmaus and ordered him to General Assessor of Catholic Action in Italy. The pro-cardinal vicar of the diocese of Rome , Luigi Cardinal Traglia , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Siena , Ismaele Mario Castellano OP , and the Auxiliary Bishop in Rome, Ettore Cunial . On October 31, 1963, Pope Paul VI appointed him . Bishop of Mondovì and at the same time gave him the personal title of Archbishop.

Paul VI appointed him on August 5, 1968 Archbishop of Ancona and Numana. Carlo Maccari also became Bishop of Osimo and Cingoli on September 28, 1972 . On September 30, 1986 Maccari became Archbishop of the newly created Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo. On July 1, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted Carlo Maccari's resignation due to reasons of age.

Carlo Maccari participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
