Carlos Alberto Sánchez (born April 24, 1963 in San Miguel de Tucumán , Argentina ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tucumán .

Life

Carlos Alberto Sánchez studied philosophy and theology at the Seminary of Tucuman and received on 24 June 1988 by the Archbishop of Tucumán, Horacio Alberto Bozzoli , the sacrament of Holy Orders . He then worked as parish vicar in the parishes of Corazón de María , San Pio X , Nuestra Señora de Luján and Nuestra Señora del Rosario . Sánchez was also a Spiritual and Regens of the Tucumán Seminary . From 2007 to 2011 he was Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Tucumán. In 2011, Carlos Alberto Sánchez became pastor of the Nuestra Señora de la Merced parish in San Miguel de Tucumán as well as delegate for pastoral ministry for young people and vocations . From 2012 to 2014 Carlos Alberto Sánchez was also Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Affairs.

On August 23, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Tucumán. He was ordained episcopal on October 13th of the same year by Luis Héctor Cardinal Villalba , Archbishop Emeritus of Tucumán. Co- consecrators were Sánchez's immediate predecessor Alfredo Zecca , as well as José Melitón Chávez , Bishop of Añatuya , Luis Urbanč , Bishop of Catamarca , and Armando José María Rossi , Bishop of Concepción .

Sánchez is also a member of the Secretariat for the Permanent Formation of Priests, which is subordinate to the Argentine Bishops' Conference.
