Carlton & United Series 1999/2000

The Carlton & United Series 1999/2000 was a three-nation tournament that was played from January 9 to February 4, 2000 in Australia in one-day cricket . In the tournament belonging to the 1999/2000 international cricket season, teams from India and Pakistan took part alongside the host . In the final Australia was able to prevail with 2–0 games won.

prehistory

Australia and India previously contested a test series in Australia . Pakistan also played a test series in Australia before that . Before the tournament, the Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akthar was suspended for illegal movement. Pakistan put in Potest against it and the ban was lifted shortly before the game.

format

In a preliminary round, each team played four times each. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw or no result. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
