Carmen Dolores Martín Berenguer (born May 29, 1988 in Roquetas de Mar ) is a Spanish handball player .

Career

Carmen Martín played for CB Mar Alicante until 2010 . Then she switched to SD Itxako , with whom she became Spanish champion in 2011 and 2012. For the 2012/13 season, the 1.69-meter-tall right-winger joined the Slovenian club Rokometni Klub Krim , with whom she won the championship and cup in 2013 and 2014. From summer 2014 she was under contract with the Romanian club CSM Bucharest , with whom she won the championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Romanian Cup in 2016 and 2017 and the EHF Champions League in 2016 . For the 2017/18 season she moved to the French first division club OGC Nice . Two seasons later she returned to CSM Bucharest.

Martín has played 218 caps for the Spanish national team so far , scoring 743 goals. At the 2011 World Cup , in which Spain finished third, she was elected to the All-Star team. In 2012 she won the bronze medal with Spain at the Olympic Games in London . At the 2014 European Championship , she won the silver medal and was elected to the All-Star Team. She also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She was elected to the All-Star Team at the 2018 European Championship .
