Castle Valley is a place (with the status of a town ) in Grand County in the southeast of the US state Utah . Castle Valley has 351 inhabitants (2018 estimate) on an area of 20.9 km². The population density is around 16.7 inhabitants per km².
geography
Castle Valley is east of Moab and near Arches National Park in a tributary valley of the Colorado River . It is dominated by the surrounding table mountains in the southwest and northeast. The La Sal Mountains begin in the southeast . Castle Creek flows past the site and flows into the Colorado to the west. The approximately 120 meter high Castle Rock , a sandstone pinnacle that rises above the valley and town, is characteristic.

At the 2010 census , Castle Valley had 319 residents. These lived in 170 households and had a mean age of 56.3 years. There were families in 89 households (52.4%) and children under the age of 18 lived in 14 (8.2%). 52% of the population were male and 48% female.
96.2 percent identified themselves as white, 1.9 percent as Hispanic or Latino , 0.6 percent were of Asian descent, and 1.3 percent said they were two or more races.
