Chacoma is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Chacoma is the central place of the Cantón Chacoma and is located in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Patacamaya in the province of Aroma . Chacoma is a scattered settlement and is located at an altitude of 3961 m on the edge of the ridge of the Serranía de Sicasica , which extends east of the place in a north-south direction.

Chacoma is located on the eastern edge of the Bolivian plateau between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. In Patacamaya, a dirt road branches off in a north-easterly direction to the village of Chacoma , five kilometers away , and then continues north to Chiarumani .

Due to the historically grown population distribution, the region has a high proportion of Aymara population, in the municipality of Patacamaya 83.2 percent of the population speak the Aymara language .
