Charlotte Kerr

Charlotte Kerr (born May 29, 1927 in Frankfurt am Main ; † December 28, 2011 in Bern ) was a German actress , director and producer .

Life

Little is known about their life. Contrary to other information, she was not the daughter of the Berlin theater critic Alfred Kerr . She had her first stage appearance in 1951 in Fritz Kortner's production of Schiller's Don Carlos . On television she became known for her role as General Lydia van Dyke of the "Schnellen Raumverbände" in the television series Raumpatrouille (1966) and in the critical films by Rainer Erler ( Fleisch ) (1979).

Kerr was married to the film producer Harry R. Sokal (1898–1979). In 1983, she learned that just a portrait of the Greek Minister Melina Mercouri had turned Friedrich Dürrenmatt know. From the discussion about his piece Achterloo a more intimate connection grew. In 1984 she became the playwright's second wife. Together with Dürrenmatt, he made the film Portrait of a Planet (1984) and the play role-playing games . After his death in 1990 she managed Dürrenmatt's painterly estate. In her book The Woman in the Red Coat she tells of her life with the writer. In 2000 the Center Dürrenmatt , which she initiated, was opened in Neuchâtel .

Charlotte Kerr was the voiceover for the German version of Chris Marker's film essay Sans soleil .
