Charlotte Schellenberg

Charlotte Schellenberg (born October 16, 1910 in Dresden , † December 14, 1989 in Hamburg ) was a German actress and radio play speaker .

Life

Charlotte Schellenberg came to the Hamburg Thalia Theater in 1928 and made her debut there as Hansel in a Christmas fairy tale . She then played at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Shaw's Die Heiligen Johanna , her only guest appearance on a different stage. She then returned to the Thalia Theater and was part of the house for 60 years until her death.

The honorary member of Thalia played over 300 roles there, including all of Curt Goetz's plays , as the mother of Anne Frank in Anne Frank's diary or as Martha in arsenic and lace . Her last role was that of nurse Katja in Jürgen Flimm's production of Platonow by Anton Chekhov .

As a mother in Schneeweißchen and Rosenrot , Charlotte Schellenberg made her debut in front of the camera in 1953 and was a regular guest on television from then until the 1980s. She embodied episode roles in series such as Hafenpolizei , Das Kriminalgericht or Sonderdezernat K1 , but also played in literary films such as Biedermann and the Arsonists or Death of a Salesman .

In addition, Charlotte Schellenberg also worked extensively for radio and, from 1945 onwards, spoke numerous roles in radio play productions for the NWDR Hamburg and later NDR .

Charlotte Schellenberg died shortly before Christmas 1989 after a long illness. Her daughter Gaby Blum is also an actress.
