Attractions

The Dapo pond ( Chinese  大 坡 池 , Pinyin Dàpō Chí ) is a body of water in Chishang, which in earlier times was of greater importance for fish farming and fishing. It is the largest inland body of water in the Huatung Valley. Beginning in the 1950s, the pond was threatened by increasing drainage and peripheral development. For several decades, the municipal administration has endeavored to develop and upgrade the small body of water, which is situated in charming surroundings, into a destination for near-natural tourism.

The pastureland leisure farm in Chishang ( Chinese  池上 牧野 渡假 村 , English Pastoral Farm Resort ) was established on the site of a former sugar cane plantation . The local sugar factory was shut down in 1986. Since then, cattle have been raised on the site. The prairie- like scenery with corresponding tents has led to the name "Little Mongolia".

The silkworm farm ( Chinese  蠶桑 休閒 農場 , English Silkworm Recreation Farm ) in the village of Wanan ( 萬 安 村 ) is located on the site of a former silkworm farm. Here an insight into the technology of sericulture can be taken.
