Chris Blight (born October 18, 1982 in Etobicoke , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian - British ice hockey player who spent the last few years of his career in the Elite Ice Hockey League .
Career
Chris Blight began his career as a hockey player with the Cambridge Hawks, for whom he played in a lower class Canadian junior league. After a year with the Guelph Dominators in the MWJHL, in which he was voted Rookie of the Year , he played from 2001 to 2005 for the team from Clarkson University in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . After two years with the Toledo Storm from the ECHL , during which he came to the Worcester Sharks for his first appearance in the American Hockey League , he moved in 2007 for a year to Toledo's league competitor, the Reading Royals . In this season he came in addition to his ECHL inserts to more than 30 AHL games, mainly for Manitoba Moose and the Albany River Rats . He then moved to Europe, where he first played for Rungsted IK from Denmark. After only six months he left the team from Nordsjælland in January 2009 and joined EV Ravensburg , where he was on the ice in the 2nd Bundesliga until 2010 . He then returned to North America for a year and played again for the Reading Royals in the ECHL and also for various AHL teams, including the Bridgeport Sound Tigers . After a year in Italy, which he spent at Ritten Sport , he moved to the British Elite Ice Hockey League in 2012 . After initially playing for the Cardiff Devils , he joined the Sheffield Steelers in February 2014 and won the Elite Ice Hockey League Playoff Championship with them that same year. He then moved to the Dundee Stars , which he also led onto the ice as captain and where he ended his career in 2015.

For Great Britain , Blight first took part in the 2015 World Cup in Division I.
