Daughtry is an American post-grunge - band , which was founded of 2006.
history
Their frontman Chris Daughtry was signed with four other musicians as a band by RCA in 2006 , after he had previously dropped out in fourth place on the fifth season of the US casting show American Idol in May of that year . The band has existed for a long time and its composition has not been changed.
For the debut album, some well-known music greats such as Brad Arnold from 3 Doors Down , Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty , Chad Kroeger from Nickelback , Slash from Guns N 'Roses as well as professional songwriters Max Martin and Dr. Luke won.
The debut album of the same name was released on November 21, 2006 and had a very good sales start. It entered the US album charts at number 2. After five weeks, the record went platinum with a million copies sold and at the end of January 2007 it even reached number 1 on the Billboard Top 200.
The debut single It's Not Over also reached the top 10 of the single charts in January 2007. In addition, the song was used as a recording music for the winter sports broadcasts on ARD .
The second album Leave This Town was released on July 14, 2009. With him were Daughtry build on the success of the first album and reached again No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200. In the same year, the band also worked with Timbaland for the song Long Way Down on his album Shock Value II together.
At the beginning of 2010 they accompanied Nickelback as a support act through Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland. In October 2010 Daughtry gave concerts in Germany again. After a two-year break, the album Break the Spell was released on November 18, 2011 . In autumn 2012 they accompanied Nickelback again as the opening act on their Here & Now tour.
