Chris Heid (born March 14, 1983 in Langley , British Columbia ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who last played in the DEL2 at EC Bad Nauheim .
Career
Heid began his career in 1998 in the Canadian junior league British Columbia Junior Hockey League with the Kamloops Buckaroos and, after scoring 60 scorer points in 58 games , moved to the Canadian junior league WHL at the end of the 1998/99 season , where he had a contract signed the Spokane Chiefs . After the links contactors could continuously improve, some were NHL - scouts noticed him, so that he during the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 in the third round at a total of 74 positions from the Minnesota Wild has been selected. However, the defender initially stayed with the Spokane Chiefs until 2003 and moved in the summer of 2003 to the American Hockey League for the Houston Eros , the farm team of the Minnesota Wild.
In Houston , however, Heid was never able to prevail and was only part of the regular squad in his first season. Finally, in 2005, the defender decided to move again and went on ice for the Cleveland Barons . Here, too, the Canadian could not gain a foothold and was mainly used in the ECHL with the Pensacola Ice Pilots . In the 2006/07 season , the 23-year-old was drawn to the German Ice Hockey League with the Eisbären Berlin . After a good first half of the season, Heid was sorted out by the then trainer of the polar bears, Pierre Pagé , and signed a contract with the polar bears in Regensburg during the season .
Since the club had to file for bankruptcy in the summer of 2008 , Heid was initially without a club. A short time later, however, he received an offer from the Krefeld Pinguine, with which he could reach the quarter-finals of the play-offs in the 2008/09 season and was eliminated there against the DEG Metro Stars . After the season he left the penguins and joined the Augsburg panthers. In the 2011/12 and 2012/13 DEL seasons he played at ERC Ingolstadt before moving to EC Bad Nauheim in the DEL2 for the 2013/14 season.
