Christa Dericum

Christa Dericum (also: Christa Pross-Dericum , Christa Dericum-Wambolt , born May 21, 1932 in Rheinberg am Niederrhein ; † December 8, 2014 ) was a German writer .

Life

Christa Dericum completed a study of the history and sociology at the universities of Heidelberg and Ann Arbor . 1964 doctorate it to the University of Heidelberg with a work on a theme from the history of Burgundy to the Doctor of Philosophy . After an internship at the Westdeutsche Zeitung in Düsseldorf , she worked as a journalist , radio editor and publisher's editor. From 1968 on she was a freelance writer and translator. Dericum's first marriage was to the social scientist Harry Pross , with whom she was based in Weiler / Allgäu . From 1998 she lived with her second husband Philipp Wambolt von Umstadt in Heidelberg .

Christa Dericum was the author of historical , essayistic and narrative works; next translated them from English and French .

Christa Dericum was a member of the Association of German Writers and the PEN Center Germany , of which she was Secretary General from 1993 to 1995. In 2001 she received a scholarship from the Villa Decius in Krakow.
