Christian Baumeister (2008)

Christian Baumeister (born December 24, 1971 in Nottuln ) is a German animal filmmaker, director and producer. His works include landscape paintings and detailed animal portraits.

Life

Baumeister was born in Nottuln in 1971 . He passed the Abitur at the St. Pius High School in Coesfeld . He then studied biology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and then completed an animal film course in England. Christian Baumeister's previous projects have taken him to Europe , Africa , Asia and South America .

In 2001 the filmmaker founded the production company Light & Shadow TV based in Münster and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Since then he has established himself with productions on the international television market and works with television companies such as ARD , ZDF , BBC , ARTE , ORF , NDR , Discovery Channel , Smithsonian Channel and National Geographic Channel .

For his 3-part nature film series "The Andes - Nature at the Limit", Baumeister received two EMMY AWARD nominations in the categories "Outstanding Cinematography" and "Outstanding Music & Sound" in 2019.
