Christian Heinrich Eckhard

Christian Heinrich Eckhard (born June 1716 in Quedlinburg ; † December 20, 1751 in Jena ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Christian Heinrich was born the son of the educator Tobias Eckhard and his wife Maria Margaretha Brocke. After training by his father and private teacher, he attended high school in his hometown. He began studying law, history and philology at the University of Jena in 1734 . In 1737 he became secretary of the Latin Society in Jena. After being promoted to Doctor of Law on April 23, 1738 , he became Ephorus of Latin Society that same year.

In 1743 he was given the full professorship of rhetoric and poetry and in the same year he acquired the academic degree of master's degree in philosophy. In the summer semester of 1746 he became rector of the alma mater . He was also given the extraordinary professorship in law in 1750. In the following year, however, Eckhard died in Jena on December 20, 1751 at the age of 35.

Eckhard had married Johanna Sophia Margaretha Hamberger (born January 6, 1726 in Jena; † August 5, 1788 there), the daughter of the physician Georg Erhard Hamberger , on July 12, 1744 in Jena .
