Christian Kellner (racing driver)
Christian "Kelle" Kellner (born December 7, 1971 ) is a German motorcycle racer .
Career
Christian Kellner drove his first race in 1994 in the ADAC Junior Cup at the Nürburgring . After switching to the German 125 cm³ championship , the German championship title followed in 1996 and fifth place in the European championship in this class. In 1997 and 1998 Kellner drove the German championship in the Supersport class, which he finished fourth in the second year and then made the leap into the world championship.
From 1999 bis 2004 Christian Kellner started in the Supersport World Championship for the in Neuss stationed Team Yamaha Motor Germany on Yamaha YZF-R6 . In the first year he finished second in the Austria run in Zeltweg as the best result straight away and finished sixth in the overall standings, just two positions behind his teammate Jörg Teuchert . The following season was the best of Kellner's World Supersport career. He won in Misano and Valencia and finished fourth in the overall standings with 122 points, only 14 points behind team-mate Teuchert, who became world champion. After 14th place in 2001 , Christian Kellner was again sixth in the World Championship in 2002 and was therefore ahead of Jörg Teuchert, who was still his team-mate, in the final ranking for the first time.
After again finishing sixth in 2003 with victory at the Japan run in Sugo and 13th place in 2004, Christian Kellner moved back to the German championship for the following season. In 2005 and 2006 he drove a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 in the IDM Superbike class for Wilbers Racing . In the first year he was ninth, the 2006 season he finished with a victory at the Hockenheimring as the best result in sixth overall. In 2007 , Kellner piloted a GSX-R 600 in the Suzuki International Europe team with moderate success in the IDM Supersport . For the 2008 season he returned to the Superbike class, competed for Team Hertrampf-Racing / Ducati 4U on a Ducati 1098R and finished 15th overall.
In the 2009 and 2010 seasons , Kellner competed for SKM Racing-Shell Advance on a Yamaha YZF-R6 in the IDM Supersport and posted fourth and eighth overall.
