Christian Ludwig von Podewils (* 1723 ; † August 11, 1783 in Berlin ) was royal Prussian court and legation councilor.

Life

Ludwig Christian von Podewils came from the well- known noble family of the von Podewils , who lived in Pomerania . His parents were the royal Prussian captain and heir to Neuhof , Battin and Crampe along with two farms in Glötzin and a Kossatenhof in Podewils , Ewald von Podwils († before 1758) and his first wife NN von Grumbkow († after 1723). His older brother Ernst Friedrich von Podewils was a Pomeranian district administrator .

Career

Podewils had enrolled in law at the Brandenburg University of Frankfurt in April 1744 , but switched to the Friedrichs University in Halle on October 20 . Was then initially court cavalier with Margrave Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg-Schwedt (* 1700; † 1771). From 1752 he occupied the position of a royal Prussian secret expeditionary secretary and was also a secret court and legation councilor in the secret state chancellery and secretary of the secret state council. There he got u. a. the Kurmark expedition.

After an inheritance comparison with his brother Ernst Friedrich von Podewils in 1758 for his father's property, he entered the estate, but sold them in 1776 to the royal Prussian major general Friedrich Wilhelm von Podewils adH Schwartow (* 1723; † 1784). In 1782 Podewils was also the master of Klein Rambin , Neuhof and Groß Reichow .

With Ludwig Christian von Podewils, the entire primeval male line from the line founded by Wulff Podwyls to Podwils († after 1458) on Podewils, the family estate of the same name, has expired.

Podewils was married to an NN von Sydow , but only had a natural son, Maria Katharina Kestner (* approx. 1751) from Berlin .
