Christian Schlee , also Christianus Schlee , Sledanus , Slede (* March 1579 in Rostock ; † July 10, 1646 in Schleswig ) was a German Lutheran clergyman , theologian and university professor .

Life

Christian Schlee (Sledanus) was the son of Oswald Schlee , at the time working as a deacon at the Petrikirche in Rostock . After attending the pedagogy in Stettin , he studied at the universities in Rostock and Wittenberg, where he obtained his master's degree in 1602 . It reappears in 1605 when he staged the comedy by Susanna in the St. John's Church in Rostock in front of a large audience . This was followed by a series of such performances in Rostock, which eventually led to theological disputes.

Schlee was appointed associate professor of theology at the University of Rostock in 1605 . On June 15, 1608 he was ordained as a preacher in order to be able to accompany the Mecklenburg Duke Johann Albrecht II on his honeymoon to Sweden as court preacher . In 1609 he became a full professor of theology at Rostock University and at the same time its rector . About a year later, on August 26, 1610, he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD .

Schlee received an appointment as pastor at the Schleswig Cathedral in 1614 . He followed the call and later became provost there . He died in this office in 1646.
