On June 15, 1608 he was ordained as a preacher in order to be able to accompany the Mecklenburg Duke Johann Albrecht II on his honeymoon to Sweden as court preacher . In 1609 he became a full professor of theology at Rostock University and at the same time its rector . About a year later, on August 26, 1610, he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD .
Schlee received an appointment as pastor at the Schleswig Cathedral in 1614 . He followed the call and later became provost there . He died in this office in 1646.
