Christian Ulrich I of Württemberg-Oels (born April 9, 1652 at Oels Castle in Oels ; † April 5, 1704 ibid) was Duke of Württemberg-Oels .

Christian Ulrich I was the third son of Duke Silvius Nimrod von Württemberg-Oels from his marriage to the Hereditary Duchess Elisabeth Marie von Oels , daughter of Duke Karl Friedrich I. Podiebrad von Oels and Anne Sophie von Sachsen-Weimar .

Regency

After the death of his brother Karl Ferdinand in 1669, Christian Ulrich I received the partial duchy of Württemberg- Bernstadt . However, after the death of his other brother Silvius Friedrich in 1697, he handed it over to his nephew Karl and took over the duchies of Oels and Juliusburg with Medzibor and parts of Trebnitz himself.

Duke Christian Ulrich I had a princely crypt chapel built in 1698 as an extension of the St. John's Palace and Court Church . He also placed an important art and book collection at Schloss Oels . In 1685 he bought the Neudorf district from Balthasar Wilhelm von Prittwitz , Herr auf Rastelwitz, and had a Baroque palace built here between 1685 and 1692, the Sibyllenort Castle named after his second wife, Sibylle Marie von Sachsen-Merseburg .

He died on April 5, 1704 at the age of 51 at Oels Castle and was buried in the family crypt he had laid out.

His first marriage was on March 13, 1672 in Bernburg with Anna Elisabeth von Anhalt-Bernburg , daughter of Prince Christian II of Anhalt-Bernburg and Eleonora Sophia of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg . With her he had seven children:

He concluded his fourth marriage on December 6, 1700 in Güstrow with Sophie von Mecklenburg-Güstrow , daughter of Duke Gustav Adolf of Mecklenburg-Güstrow and Magdalena Sibylla of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf . This marriage remained childless.
