Magdalena Sibylla von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf , also Magdalena Sybille or Magdalene Sybille , (* 1631 at Gottorf Castle ; † 1719 in Güstrow ) was the wife of the ruling Duke of Mecklenburg in the Mecklenburg-Güstrow region Gustav Adolf from 1654 to 1695 .

Magdalene Sybille von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf was born as the daughter of Duke Friedrich III. von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf (1597–1659) and his wife Maria Elisabeth von Sachsen (1610–1684).

Duchess of Mecklenburg

On December 28, 1654 Magdalene Sybille married Duke Gustav Adolf von Mecklenburg-Güstrow.

The couple had eleven children but no surviving male heir. This leads to a follow-up dispute, which was settled with the Hamburg settlement of 1701 and which reformed Mecklenburg internally.

After the death of her husband, Magdalene Sybille remained a widowed duchess for 26 years and ran a small court in Güstrow . However, the former residence lost its former glory and importance after the Mecklenburg-Güstrow line died out.
